The 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn is powered by a V8 HEMI engine with Variable Valve Timing that’s paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. It delivers up to 395 horsepower and up to 410 lb.-ft. of torque.

The HEMI is standard, but the engine with the eTorque mild hybrid system is an optional feature for the Laramie Longhorn. The eTorque system allows for improved fuel efficiency on the second generation of this engine. The eTorque system joins a 48-volt battery pack with a belt-drive motor generator to allow for start/stop function, brake energy regeneration and short-term torque assist.

The eTorque system also gives better drivability, performance, towing capabilities and payload. When properly equipped, the 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn can tow up to 11,540 pounds and has a max payload capacity of 1,

930 pounds.
