Meet the All-New 2020 Jeep Gladiator

November 29th, 2018 by

After two years of anticipation, we finally have all the details and official photos of Jeep’s latest truck, the 2020 Jeep Gladiator. The Gladiator made its first public appearance this week at the LA Auto Show and it’s pretty spectacular.

Gladiator will come in four trim configurations: Sport, Sport S, Overland and Rubicon.

Performance & Capability

There are two fuel-efficient powertrains. The proven 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine with Engine Stop-Start (ESS) technology will offer 285 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The second option is the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel engine with ESS, which is rated at 260 horsepower and 442 lb.-ft. of torque and paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The 2020 Jeep Gladiator will feature unrivaled capability thanks to its Command-Trac and Rock-Trac 4×4 systems, third generation Dana 44 axles, Tru-Lock electric front- and rear-axle lockers, Trac-Lock limited-slip differential, segment-exclusive sway bar disconnect and 33-inch off-road tires. These systems will work together to give unmatched crawl ratios and up to 30 inches of water fording.

The Gladiator will also deliver best-in-class 4×4 payload with up to 1,600 pounds and towing with up to 7,650 pounds.

Design & Features

The Jeep Gladiator is based on the beloved Wrangler JL and takes plenty of design cues from it like the seven-slot grille, round headlamps and square tail lamps. It will also feature a fold-down windshield, open-air options with both hard and soft tops as well as dozens of other windshield and door combinations.

Speaking of configuration, the Jeep Gladiator is a crew cab with a five-foot steel bed that has a covered external power source and integrated tie-downs.

The interior of the Gladiator is filled with tech as it features the fourth-generation Uconnect system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and either a 7- or 8.4-inch touchscreen with pinch and zoom gestures.

The 2020 Jeep Gladiator is expected to arrive here at Hebert’s Town & Country Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram sometime during the second quarter of 2019, which is anywhere between May and August. Fingers crossed for May!
