Meet Dodge’s New Muscle: 2021 Durango SRT Hellcat
Introduced this month, the 2021 Dodge Durango joins the SRT Hellcat family alongside the ranks of the Challenger and Charger as the most powerful SUV ever. Even though Dodge will build the Durango SRT Hellcat for the 2021 model year only, the entire Durango lineup features fierce new exterior styling and sharp interior design inspired by the Dodge Challenger. We at Hebert’s Town and Country Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Shreveport are excited about the introduction of the 2021 Durango SRT Hellcat. Orders will open this fall and the Durango SRT Hellcat models are scheduled to start arriving at dealerships early in 2021.
BOLD AND AGGRESSIVE: Part muscle car and part traditional SUV, Durango SRT Hellcat is one heck of a combination. The Durango’s forward-leaning profile with muscular widebody lines reminds you of the Charger. It also has a new aggressive face, LED headlamps, and Dodge’s signature LED daytime running lamps. The Durango SRT Hellcat sports a sculpted hood along with a redesigned grille. Its sleek look is accentuated with a rear spoiler and 20-inch aluminum wheels in Hyper Black.
MOST POWERFUL SUV EVER: “The Brotherhood of Muscle includes families of all sizes and the Durango delivers Dodge performance as the Charger of the three-row SUV segment,” Tim Kuniskis with Dodge said in a press release. What makes the 2021 Durango SRT Hellcat the most powerful SUV on the planet is the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat V8 engine, which cranks out 710 horsepower and 645 lb.-ft. of torque, giving the Durango Hellcat the ability to go from zero to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. Coupled with the TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission, the result is optimal power and best-in-class towing capability of 8,700 pounds.
MUSCLE-CAR-INSPIRED: The 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat carries all the traits of its Hellcat siblings, from monstrous power to street-racing-inspired interior design. With a more driver-centric focus, the cockpit is everything a muscle car lover would expect. The 2021 Durango is equipped with a flat-bottom performance steering wheel that has standard paddle shifters. The center stack has performance driving in mind and been upgraded with Uconnect 5, which is five times faster than the previous generation, and a 10.1-inch touchscreen, which is the largest in its class. The center stack houses chrome-accented controls for the heated and cooled Nappa leather seats as well as other functions.
The 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat is the perfect addition to the Dodge muscle car family and is the most powerful three-row SUV on the market. Taking cues from its siblings, the Charger and Challenger, the Durango SRT Hellcat comes standard with a capable engine and is designed for speed.
