Let off the gas and cruise because the stop is inevitable. When the light turns green, or it’s your turn to go from the stop sign, there’s no need to punch it. Gradually reach the desired speed or the speed limit. If it’s a day in the city, there’s probably another red light or stop sign coming up anyway.

The fifth tip on how to save on gas this summer is focused on tire pressure. Properly inflated tires decrease the chance of rolling resistance as you move along. Increased rolling resistance puts more stress on the vehicle’s engine causing it to work harder to make the vehicle move. More work means more gas.

The sixth tip on how to save gas is to properly maintain the vehicle. With updated oil changes and a clean air filter, the vehicle will work less to move along. Again, more stress on the vehicle’s engine means more gas is needed to produce desired speeds.
